The youngest of six, and the only member of her family born on American soil, Charlotte MacBagito is the daughter of an African Air Force pilot and mother of Belgium descent.

Born, raised, and schooled in metro Atlanta, she had an early career in the fashion industry in New York where she developed a fascination with culinary arts. She returned to Georgia and enrolled in the Art Institute of Atlanta, earning a degree in Culinary Arts and Management. She then founded and operated what was then Atlanta’s only upscale vegan restaurant.

Her experiences in the restaurant business made her sensitive to the challenges faced by small business owners. After completing formal finance training at the Capstone Institute of Finance, she founded a commercial mortgage lending company.  She specializes in pairing borrowers with inventors, and for the past 12 years has enjoyed a successful career as President of Ivy League Capital and Investments. She has served as the lead advisor on more than 100 complex transactions, including real estate, mixed-use developments, public-private partnerships, energy, and telecom companies.

Long active in civic and charitable organizations, she has served as an advocate for children with disabilities, the National Coalition for the Homeless, and Parent-to-Parent, an organization for parents with special needs children.

She is also active in the American Association of Private Lenders, the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce, American Bankers Association, Midtown Atlanta Association, and Midtown Neighborhood Association. Charlotte is the mother of two children, a son who is a Physics Major at the University of Virginia, and a daughter who plans to major in Music. She is a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta.
